Come See What’s Happening in 2012!

Library Helpers!

A group of dedicated 4th grade students are boldly going where no students have gone before—they are librarians-in-training! These dedicated students will be responsible for caring for the flora (lots of plants) and fauna (Rocket, the library fish), updating bulletin boards and the Panther Pride showcase, and maintaining the library. Students perform their duties before and after school and during one recess period per week. Come to the library to see our newest bulletin board introducing our “crew”!

Six Flags Great Adventure Read to Succeed!

This annual reading incentive program will launch on January 6, 2012. Students who read for pleasure for at least 60 minutes before February 17, 2012 will receive a ticket for a free entrance to Six Flags Great Adventure. Tickets will be handed out in April and will be valid for the summer 2012 season. Look for a flyer to come home with more information.

Dog Ears!

In it’s 4th year, our Dog Ears program encourages students to read and build their fluency. This year, in addition to their weekly individual reading sessions, therapy dogs have been visiting individual classrooms for story times. If you have a therapy dog and would like to participate OR have a dog that you would like to get certified as a therapy dog, please contact Lisa Donnelly at 973.919.2048 or Ms. Meyerson, the Library Media Specialist.

Read Across America!

This annual event is scheduled for February 27 through March 2 this year. We are planning many fun activities including theme days, a trivia contest and guest readers—all designed to inspire our students to READ, READ, READ! Stay tuned for more information!

Read to Feed!

Our 2nd Annual Read to Feed event is currently in the early planning stages. We are hoping to hold the event in conjunction with Read Across America week. Stay tuned for more information!
