The 6th grade Computer program provides basic exposure to Microsoft Office. The programs covered: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher. This will prepare each student for Grades 7 & 8 where students are required to use the computer to complete projects for grades.

 

The Technology Lab hosts classes from the 6th grade "Dawn of Technology" program up through the 7th and 8th grade "Technology Revolution." These classes include following the development of the industrial revolution through current day subjects such as alternative energy, principles of flight, robotics, bridge and tower building, and more. Additionally, the "How it Works" and "Woodworking" courses teach students the basic operation of home electrical, plumbing, and heating systems as well as the proper and safe use of hand, portable, and stationary power tools.

 

Digital Photography – Introduces students to the basics of Still/Digital Photography, basic lighting techniques & how to take quality pictures. Students will learn how to manipulate photographs through Photoshop Elements. Students work individually & in groups to present digital Slideshows.

 

Digital Video - Introduces students to basic Camera Techniques and Angles, Camera Shooting Styles, Story Development, Writing Scripts, Story Boarding, Shooting Movies, Editing and Special Effects. Students will learn basic lighting techniques, work individually & in groups to produce a movie.
