Online Subscription Databases can provide more reliable sources than Google or other free internet searching.

EBSCO gives a list of databases for magazines, journals, biographies, NoveList and more. Go here for news articles, to expand your research about a topic, for brief encyclopedia articles, or for special book reviews.

Pick up your usernames and passwords for this in the PVLMC.

Facts on File is a collection of databases that include specialized encyclopedias and reference books in many subjects. It is the perfect start for any social studies project that includes anything about history or geography. It is also especially good for science, health, careers, as well as a wonderful resource for teachers.

Then click on Magazines, Newspapers & Research Databases
Click on Facts on File and input your library card number when that window comes up.
Once you are in, select the database that will work best for you.

In some cases, a database article may count as a print source because it has been through the same rigorous editorial process that a book or journal article must go through to get printed.
