Kindergarten

JANUARY

We will ring in the New Year by continuing our journey through the alphabet and blending sounds together to build words and to read words. Recognizing, writing and utilizing the numbers through 30 will be a focus in Math. Winter will be the theme with discussions centering on how animals keep warm in the winter with hibernation and how we keep warm. Please practice buttoning and zippering those jackets!

February

During this month we will talk about friendship and how to be a good friend. We will exchange valentines with our friends for February 14th! We will continue to cover the alphabet and learn many new sight words. We will also continue blending and building words! Groundhog’s Day reminds us of our seasons and time. We will tell time to the hour and half hour and talk about the passage of time. Money will also be a focus this month. We will learn about the value of coins and dollars and counting coins.
