PRE K
In preschool, we are busy expanding our play plans and center play. We will be making a line to represent each word in our sentence and look for pictures that will start to include more body parts when we draw ourselves.
Not only are we rote counting, but we can recognize numerals 1 through 6 and count out objects for those numbers! Soon we will do this all the way to 10! We are also working on 1-to-1 correspondence and graphing.
In the A.M. class, we have been working with colors. We can sort them and continue to work on consistently identifying green, yellow, and red. We all know blue, pink, purple, orange, and black. Soon we’ll work with white and brown.
In the P.M. class, we are expanding our knowledge of the seasons. We continue to work on the months of the year and days of the week. Also, we are learning about the alphabet – the names of the letters and the sounds that go with them. We listen for the initial sounds in words and then find the letter that goes with it. So far, we have done initial sounds of b, m, r, and s. We are adding the sounds t, g, n, p, h, & f.
