HSA Updates
OUR NEXT HOME AND SCHOOL MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 10TH AT 6:00 PM.
SCRIP CARD ORDERS ARE DUE APRIL 27TH. GIFT CARDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BY MAY 4TH.
It’s hard to believe we are in the second half of the school year. We are again asking for help with our events coming up in this half.
First, let us look back on what we have accomplished in the first half of the year. Hopefully most of you have noticed all the new additions around the school. We are excited to tell you we have installed a new front sign, four picnic tables, a new playground for the older children, four park benches, refurnished the library with new tables, chairs and couches, installed cork strips around the school to showcase the children’s work, the book fair, provide a hot lunch program and hosted the Halloween events.
In the second half we will be doing an enrichment program on bullying, having another author visit that the children enjoy so much, distributing the free scholastic books, Valentine’s book bingo, field day, talent show and the list goes on. This is thanks to all of you who have worked so hard to raise the money and volunteered your time to make these things happen.
We would like to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to all the fifth grade parents who will be leaving us at the end of this year! We couldn’t have done what we have without your time and dedication to SJG through the years! Thank you again!!
Without your help the HSA cannot keep doing what we have done in the past. Please help us keep the traditions going. The fundraising we do pays for all the items we purchased and all the programs we put on for the children. If we don’t have chairperson(s) and volunteers we will need to cancel events and fundraisers in the future. Please consider helping in any way you can. Some committees don’t require big commitments which are great for someone who doesn’t have much time. Any time you can commit is a tremendous help. On the attached forms you will note which committees need a chairperson. Please consider filling one of these to help us keep it going. You can also get a friend(s) to co-chair it with you. There is also the veteran’s still around who can help and guide you as to what needs to be done.
The following committee’s are in need of chairs in order for the events to take place this year or to train with a chair for next year: create your own sundae, Kidstuff Books, tricky tray, book fair, field day and family fun nights.
