Pequannock Township School District serves approximately 2,200 students in five schools. Our district is comprised of three elementary schools, which are North Boulevard (Preschool - Grade 5), Hillview (K-5) and Stephen J. Gerace (K-5); one middle school, Pequannock Valley School (Grades 6 - 8); and Pequannock Township High School (Grades 9 - 12).
All new student registrations are completed online. This system allows us to process student and family information efficiently in order to more effectively serve our school community. Please click on the appropriate grade level below to begin the registration process.

Preschool Application & Registration

All applications received after the April 17th due date will be placed on a waitlist.
Preschool Hours - 8:15 AM - 2:00 PM
Preschool Tuition for 2026-2027 - $11,500.00
Applications and birth certificates can be emailed to Colleen Smith at colleen.smith@pequannock.org.
All applications will be reviewed and placed in the lottery system after the application deadline. Once the lottery is drawn and available openings are filled, parents will be notified whether their child was accepted or placed on the waitlist. Siblings of current students will not have priority for openings.
- April 17, 2026 - Application deadline - applications received after the deadline will be placed on the waitlist
- Early May 2026 - Lottery drawn - acceptance and waitlist letters sent to parents
- May 15, 2026 - Contracts and deposits of $250 - due to Board of Education office
- May 29, 2026 - Online registration & all documents - must be submitted and finalized or you will forfeit your child's spot in the program
Accepted Students - If you receive a letter of acceptance, please complete the online registration.
Required Documents - Fillable PDF documents are available for download under the Documents tab on the online Genesis registration portal. All documents must be uploaded during online registration.

Contract and Deposit - A contract will be emailed to the parents. Signed contracts must be returned along with the $250 nonrefundable deposit by May 15, 2026.
Only signed contracts received with a paid deposit will hold your child's seat in the program. If all information is not received by the due date, your child's seat will be forfeited to the next child on the waitlist.
Deposit and tuition may be paid online. If you prefer to pay by check or money order, make checks payable to Pequannock Board of Education and mail to 538 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444. If you prefer to drop it off, we are located on the second floor of the Pompton Plains Post Office.
After the deposit of $250.00, families can choose to pay annually, semi-annually or quarterly.
Annual (full) payment - $11,250.00 due by August 1st
Semi-Annual payments - $5,625.00 due by August 1st and January 1st
Quarterly payments -
$2,812.50 due August 1st, 2026
$2,812.50 due November 1st 2026
$2,812.50 due January 1st, 2027
$2,812.50 due March 1st, 2027
Students on the waitlist: If an opening becomes available, you will be contacted via phone call and email in the order in which your child's name was selected in the lottery. Please respond within three (3) business days to accept or decline the opening. If you do not respond within three days, we will assume that you are no longer interested in the program and will remove your child's name from the waitlist.

Please be aware that any initial determination of the student's eligibility to attend school in this district is subject to more thorough review and subsequent re-evaluation, and that tuition may be assessed in the event that an initially admitted student is later found ineligible. Preschool Special Services Registration
Our preschool integrated and preschool disabilities programs are both housed at North Boulevard School. Preschool students are referred to the Special Services Department which will then set up a meeting to discuss your concerns regarding your child.

Once your child has been referred for special education services, please follow the instructions below.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten school assignments will be determined in June and parents will be notified at that time. School assignment is based on special education needs and enrollment numbers. It is not based on location. Please see Board Policy 5120 - Assignment of Students for further information.
A child must be 5 years old on or before October 1st of the school year. See Board Policy 5112 - Entrance Age.
Kindergarten orientation will take place at your child's assigned school on a date to be determined.
School hours are 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Elementary - School hours are 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Grades 1-5 - Elementary school assignments are determined based on Board Policy 5120 - Assignment of Students and Board Regulation 5120R - Attendance Area Plan. School assignments will not be made until all registration documents are received and reviewed.
Middle School - School hours are 7:50 am to 2:32 pm
High School - School hours are 8:05 am to 3:04 pm
Grades 6-12 - Once all documents are received by the district, you will be contacted by a school counselor to make an appointment to review the transcript and schedule to determine a start date. This process may take a few days so it is best to begin the registration process as soon as you know your child will be attending the middle or high school.

STUDENT RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS
Admission Criteria for Student Registration
Attendance in Pequannock Township School District shall be free to any person over five and under twenty years of age, or such younger or older student as is otherwise entitled by law to a free public education, who is domiciled within Pequannock Township School District. Domicile is defined as “the place where a person has their true, fixed, permanent home and principal establishment, and to which, whenever they are absent, they have the intention of returning.” (N.J.A.C.9A:5-1.1a)
Those who meet this requirement include:
- Students who are living with a parent/guardian whose domicile is located within Pequannock Township School District.
- Students who are living with a person, other than the parent/guardian, who is domiciled within Pequannock Township and is supporting the child(ren) without remuneration as if the student were their own child. The parent(s) may be required to provide documentation showing the parent/guardian is unable to care for the child(ren) due to family or economic hardship and that the student is not residing with another person solely for the purpose of attending school in Pequannock Township. The resident must provide such documentation as well as proof of residency in the district.

Proof of Residency and/or Eligibility
Proof of Eligibility and/or Residency
All parents/guardians must complete the Student Residency Information Sheet.
At the time of registration, families will be required to provide proof of eligibility to enroll a student in Pequannock Township School District. The documentation provided will be evaluated, and if acceptable, the student will be determined eligible to enroll and attend school.
Families should submit two (2) items from Column A and two (2) items from Column B. The documents submitted must be current.

Affidavits
If any of the following circumstances exist, forms must be completed, notarized and the original documents returned to the Board of Education Registrar during the registration process.
- The parent(s)/guardian and child(ren) are temporarily or permanently living with a district resident due to homelessness, transition or by choice.
- Parent(s)/guardian must complete
- Pequannock resident providing housing must complete
- Affidavit of district resident providing housing to parent & children. The resident providing housing must provide residency documents according to the above chart.
- If the resident rents the property and there is no current written lease, the landlord/property owner must complete Landlord Affidavit.
- The child(ren) lives with a Pequannock resident, other than the parent(s)/guardian
- Parent(s)/guardian must complete
- Pequannock resident caring for your child(ren) must complete
- If the resident rents the property and there is no current written lease, the landlord/property owner must complete Landlord Affidavit.
All affidavits must be original notarized documents. If needed, notaries are available at the Board of Education office. Residency documents are required for the resident providing housing.
