Preschool Lottery Application
Applications for the 2024-2025 Preschool Program are now available.
ALL APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER APRIL 16th ARE PLACED ON THE WAITLIST
Please complete and return the 2024-2025 application and a copy of your child's birth certificate
to the Board of Education office by April 16, 2024.
Applications and birth certificates can also be emailed to Colleen Smith at colleen.smith@pequannock.org.
- April 16, 2024 - Application deadline - applications received after the deadline will be placed on the waitlist
- Early May 2024 - Lottery drawn - acceptance and waitlist letters sent to parents
- June 5, 2024 - Contracts and deposits - due to Board of Education office
Once the application deadline has closed, all applications will be reviewed and placed in the lottery system. Once available positions are filled, parents will be notified whether their child was accepted or placed on the waitlist. Siblings of current students will not have priority for openings.

Preschool Registration
The lottery for the 2024-2025 Preschool Program was drawn in early May 2024
Accepted Students - If you receive a letter of acceptance, please complete the online preregistration. Once submitted, an automated email will be sent containing links to upload the required registration documents. If you do not receive the automated email within 24 hours, please check your spam email folder. If you need the email resent, contact Colleen Smith.
Required Documents - The fillable PDF Preschool Registration Packet contains all of the required documents. The automated email contains links to upload your child's birth certificate, home language survey, three (3) proofs of residency, parent questionnaire, most recent physical and immunization records, and oral health assessment form. If there are custody/court documents pertaining to your child, please upload those as well. Disregard any links for documents that are not required for preschool registration. Documents must be uploaded no later than May 22, 2024.
Contract and Deposit - Once the online preregistration is completed, a contract will be mailed to the parents. Signed contracts must be returned along with the $250 nonrefundable deposit by June 5, 2024.
Only signed contracts received with a paid deposit will hold your child's seat in the program. If all information is not received by the June 5th due date, your child's seat will be forfeited to the next child on the waitlist.
Deposit and tuition may be paid online. If you prefer to pay by check or money order, make checks payable to Pequannock Board of Education and mail to 538 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444. If you prefer to drop it off, we are located on the second floor of the Pompton Plains Post Office.

Students on the waitlist: If an opening becomes available, you will be contacted via phone call and email in the order in which your child's name was selected in the lottery. Please respond within three (3) business days to accept or decline the opening. If you do not respond within three days we will assume that you are no longer interested in the program and will remove your child's name from the wait list.

Please be aware that any initial determination of the student's eligibility to attend school in this district is subject to more thorough review and subsequent re-evaluation, and that tuition may be assessed in the event that an initially admitted student is later found ineligible. If your student is found ineligible, now or later, you will be provided the reasons for our decision and instructions on how to appeal.

Preschool Special Services
Our preschool integrated program and the preschool disabilities program are both housed at North Boulevard School. Preschool students are referred to the Special Services Department which will then set up a meeting to discuss concerns.
Please contact Catherine Russell, Administrative Assistant of Student Services, for information and instructions on how to refer your preschool child for special education services. Ms. Russell can be reached at 973-616-6010 ext 3007 or catherine.russell@pequannock.org.
Once your child has been referred for special education services please follow the instructions below.
REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE.
- All registrations will be completed online using the registration link
- When completing the online registration, continue clicking the "Next" button until all information is entered and questions answered and then click the submit button to send the information to the district.
- An automated email will be sent with links to upload the required documents directly to the district. Submit all documents as soon as possible. If you are not able to upload the documents, email them to Colleen Smith or drop them off at the Board of Education offices.

- Original Birth Certificate - must be sent prior to initial meeting
- Three Proofs of residency - see Residency Forms for more information - must be sent prior to initial meeting
- Most recent physical and immunizations
- Preschool Special Education Packet - includes the home language survey, parent questionnaire, physical form and Oral Health Assessment,
- Evaluations/Early Intervention paperwork - please email to catherine.russell@pequannock.org
- Custody Papers, if parents live separately
Please have all registration documentation to the Board of Education office as soon as possible. If your child has a physical in the summer, please submit the most recent physical and immunizations by June 1st and send the updated physical and immunizations after the summer appointment.
