Grant Information
Title 1 Funding
Title 1 funding is available on an annual basis for those children from low-income families to help them meet state academic standards and to close achievement gaps. The amount available to Pequannock can fluctuate yearly depending on the poverty levels and the number of eligible students in accordance with the Title 1 guidelines and regulations in Title 1 Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Planned funding for the 2021-2022 school year is available to Stephen J. Gerace Elementary, Pequannock Valley School, and Pequannock Township High School. Title 1 services provide academic support in the form of small group tutoring in ELA and Mathematics. For more information about Title I services, please visit the NJ DOE Title I, Part A website and/or contact your child’s principal.
American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER)
In August, 2021, NJ accepted the plan of the federal government to provide financial aid and support for schools in response to the challenges of the ongoing pandemic. The approved plan emphasized the safe return to in-person learning while addressing the academic, social, emotional, and mental health impacts associated with the pandemic. Pequannock Township continues to apply for these funds and have outlined various uses for these funds that support a safe return, provide continued academic support and enrichment opportunities for students, provides targeted professional development to support teachers and staff, and ensures the continuity of mental health supports for students impacted by or exacerbated by the pandemic.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Ann Marie VanSickle, the Director of Curriculum & Instruction.
