The Pequannock Township School District administers the NJSLA assessments (formerly known as PARCC) to all students in grades 3-11. Three assessments (ELA, Mathematics, and Science) will be administered in the District.
All students in grades 3-11 are expected to participate in the appropriate assessments. Students enrolled in grades 3-7 will take both the NJSLA ELA & Mathematics assessments. Students in grades 8 - 10 will participate in the ELA assessment and either the Algebra or the Geometry assessment. Students in grades 5, 8, & 11 only will participate in the Science assessment.
Once testing has completed, you will be sent a score report for each child. The NJSLA individual student score report provides you with a snapshot of how your student is progressing toward meeting grade-level expectations, progress toward mastery of important grade level skills and the NJ Student Learning Standards.
Using the NJSLA data, along with Realtime grade reporting, report card grade, and teacher feedback will help you gain a perspective of how well your child is performing academically. As always, we encourage you to be actively engaged in monitoring and assisting your child through their academic journey in Pequannock Township Schools. We encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher, principal, or guidance counselor if you have any questions or concerns about their academic progress.
